Student Spotlight The student spotlight showcases endeavours undertaken by students and artistic expression through poems, writ-
ing, and visual art.
Ingenious
Ever since I was in kindergarten, I’ve had a great fondness for writ-
ing. Over the years, while most of my peers would resort to art and
music, writing turned into a hobby and a medium of expression
for me. Ingenious is an initiative that I started two years ago as a
seventh-grader, however, I never realized the potential I had with
my website, blog and Instagram account. Ingenious is about dis-
cussion, creativity and point of view; I enjoy sharing my approach,
criticisms and beliefs when it comes to increasingly prominent
concepts from mental health and the science behind emotions to
the Black Lives Matter movement and the Afghan crisis. Ingenious
aims for advocacy, awareness as well as connection within my au-
dience.
What was once a summer pass time has become an enjoyable week-
ly investment of my time. By expanding my brand from a blog site
to a social media project and a podcast (‘STEMed; exploration be-
yond the surface’) that is now available on all streaming platforms,
I’ve spent the past two years furthering my interests in socio-po-
litical ideas and scientific concepts, and sharing them with those
around me while doing what I love most; writing.

spread awareness about what is important, be it in the world, inside us or in history.
