A TRIBUTE
TO NELSON
MANDELA
nternational Mandela Day was celebrated
at DPSI to commemorate Nelson Mandela
Iby giving him a tribute and spreading his
ideologies. The emcees, Annika Singhal
and Kabir Bhatnagar, introduced the
assembly. The event was highlighted by
‘Draw My Life – In Timelapse’ displayed
with graphics made by Imroz Inam and
Mehar Kaur, and a voice-over by Deepanshi
Matai. Furthermore, there was a digital
portrait of Nelson Mandela designed
by Ishaan Shrimali rhythmically aligned
with the background song called ‘Wavin'
Flag’ sung by Kritika Chug showcasing a
beautiful amalgamation of technology and
music. Students also narrated two famous
inspirational speeches by Nelson Mandela,
‘I Am Prepared To Die’ and the ‘Inaugural
Speech’ to recreate his oratory expertise
in motivating the masses towards justice
and peace. The presentation ended with
Mandela’s quote “Tread softly, breathe
peacefully, laugh hysterically.” Spreading
the message – not to take yourself so
seriously. Placing priority on your internal
state, as nobody can take that away. This
also taught us to value qualities such as
gentleness, serenity, and humor.
