23. ‘UMEED – COLOURS OF HOPE’

As an extension of our
theme for Independence
Day celebrations - ‘Hit Hai
To Fit Hai’, DPS International
organised a Kathak
performance by renowned
dancer, Ms Sunena Gupta.
Her production, UMEED-
‘Colors of Hope’, narrates the
hopeful journey of a young
girl as she navigates through
her life combating issues
such as self-image, mental
health and chronic illness.
Through her performances,
she has supported ‘Project
SMILE’ to empower women
in challenging situations in
Singapore, ‘Papyrus Youth
Suicide Prevention’ in
London, and ‘Ashaa: Images
of India’ in California.

Ms Gupta’s graceful and
mesmerizing performance
was followed by a Q&A
session with the students to
understand her journey as
an IB student pursuing her
passion for the performing
arts while fighting against all
odds.
