The students used recycled
old clothes, newspaper, used
papers, rakhis, flowers, grains,
colored saw dust, leaves,
old unused chalks and even
turmeric powder and just
about anything one can think
of sustainably to create the
rangoli.
Every rangoli highlighted
the world that Gandhi ji had
imagined by emphasizing on
‘Responsible consumption
and production’ and ‘Reduced
Inequalities’, strands of UN’s
Sustainable Development
Goals. The Father of the Nation
always wanted us to consume
and produce our resources
wisely and use materials like
Khadi. Additionally, he wanted
us to treat each other equally
without any discrimination.
It was a fun-filled hour at
school for all of us as we
showcased our creativity
while collaborating with our
classmates and developing
our social skills, all the while
building up on ideas together
to come up with our beautiful
creations and at the end it did
not even matter who won and
who didn’t because we were all
happy and united.
