Diversity, equity, and inclusivity. Undoubtedly, the need of today’s times! I’d like to first
very quickly touch upon the meanings of these words. Well, they’re actually quite simple.
Diversity is the practice to include or involve people from a range of different backgrounds
and genders. Inclusivity is the practice or policy of providing equal access to resources
and opportunities like jobs for people who are different in their race, gender, their culture,
their economic background, and their religion. As people belonging to the modern world,
we must learn to accept and embrace people from different races, cultures, economic
backgrounds, genders, and religions. For example, people who are black must have all
the rights that white people have, such as getting a job based on qualifications. Of course,
all this is easier said than done. Prejudice and bias are the causes of the inequality that is
rampant in the world. Often, men and women are treated differently. Women sometimes
get paid less in a job while doing the same thing as men. This is an unfair practice. In

countries like Pakistan, Syria, and Afghanistan, women are not
treated as equals to men. Racism is also common in many
countries. Racism has led to extremely unfortunate
things, for example when a white police officer killed a
black man named George Floyd in the US. This incident

was perhaps one of the biggest crime
against humanity of our times. People
        from different economic backgrounds
should also be treated equally. For
instance, both rich people and poor
people should get the same rank in a
        job.

A rank in a job should depend on the
person's experience in the job, not on how
rich or poor they are. In order to achieve this
balance and equality, we need to focus on
        spreading awareness through education and
        enlightening and sensitizing people about
        accepting different races, cultures, religions,
        genders and backgrounds.
I would like to conclude this with a famous
quote by Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of our
        nation:
Our ability to reach unity in diversity will be
the beauty and the test of our civilization.
