                                                                                                                                  Our school-initiated trip to Mukteshwar, hosted by, Ecoventure has given me, as well as the
                                                                                                                                  11th and 12th grade students of DPSI, an opportunity to explore the rich, and vast hills of
                                                                                                                                  Uttarakhand, as well as interacting with the lovely locals of Mukteshwar. Realizing how
                                                                                                                                  privileged we are, to be able to afford quality education, we hosted an initiative to help the
                                                                                                                                  children, and inform them about how they can study abroad comfortably. We planned to
                                                                                                                                  host a carnival at the school, as a way for us to interact and integrate with the children in
                                                                                                                                  the school. We also participated in re-painting the school walls, as well as hosting a number
                                                                                                                                  of physical activities that include yoga, and dance. The most challenging part about this
                                                                                                                                  trip was the language barrier. Hindi isn't my first language, so being able to communicate
                                                                                                                                  with the locals there was a little tough, however, I was able to communicate by talking in
                                                                                                                                  small, simple, sentences. Even if there was a language barrier, I have realized how so many
                                                                                                                                  of these children relate to me, as we have the same goals in life. Going to this adventure, I
                                                                                                                                  have experienced the picturesque landscapes, and came back with a better learning of
                                                                                                                                  the people of India. The rich traditions of the locals were deeply ingrained in me.
