AND HER IMAGINATION
RUNS WILD AGAIN
a poem by Subah Goel, MYP 2
She wakes up and reads the comments, Her squeal transforms into a horror shriek,
She sees heart emojis and wonderful compliments, As the dancing avatar turns into a frozen awkward
posture,
“You look like a princess”
Her imagination starts to reek.
She reads and blushes
And so, to her cheeks, blood and red rushes.
Her mind goes astray once again,
But this time, it is not the flowy dresses and wax
While harps play in the background seals,
And a girlish smile takes over,
But she with her big nose drenched in the rain.
A Disney story is what comes to her mind.
The music becomes horror,
While her mind goes astray, picturing her with him, Her dress turns into a hood,
And him with her,
Her sharp tiara now nothing but a pointed
Her hair in a bun and he in his expert trim. weapon,
And her cheeks pale and green.
When her eyes close and her imagination runs wild,
When she dances all by herself, Until she reads the next comment.
And squeals like a child.
“Did you come from a Disney movie, cause you
pretty girl”
Is when she reaches cloud 9,
Her red eyes change into red hearts.
She goes to the mirror to admire the beauty that
she calls “mine,” And her imagination runs wild again.
But realises that it’s short-lived when she sees this –
“Why is your nose so big and eyes so small, gosh
you ugly”
She gulps and gasps heavily.
She falls,
