Colourful lights all around
        Illuminating the sky black
Of crackers we hear a sound
For the Diwali season is back!
        As the fireworks burst
Into a synergy of red, green and blue
Feeling a joy of which we are unversed
As if wings our hearts grew

But this is not the best
Not the memories I will remember
For with family I am blessed
        Togetherness each November
        Hesitatingly agree to help
        With the annual Diwali cleaning
        A soft but unanimous yelp
        As two Chakris were convening

        Slowly mixing the kheer
Hands barely reaching the counter By Tanishkka Aggarwal (MYP 3)
Yet feeling as important as can be
As if of kheer I was the founder
But still the nostalgic smell Luminous
        Brings back all memories
        Of every year getting unwell
After gorging on aloo puris Rhapsody:

        Standing on chairs A Diwali
        To hang strings of lights
        Placing diyas on each stair
        And negotiating the market price
        Adorning the entrance Delight
        With a mandatory rangoli
With last year, an uncanny resemblance
Yet repeating every Diwali and Holi

Flying in from Delhi and Bombay
An excuse to meet our loved ones
Is it because Diwali is a special day
Or is it made special with daughters and sons?
This I will never know Diwali Poster
But of one thing I am sure by Suhaana Khanna (MYP 3)
No matter how many changes I undergo
For Diwali I will never be too mature

These memories will stay with me
        I will forget them never
Twenty thirteen or twenty thirty three
        I will love Diwali forever
