The Circus
“Okay but don’t embarrass me please” the manager said
“Sure” we all exclaimed in unison
We all got ready as fast as we could. Oliver hurriedly
painted our faces. Katherine, fixed my big nose which
covered my whole face and even half my eye. We had
to quickly change into the big and stinky costumes. We
came out of the changing room and started laughing,
Oliver looked hilarious in his big costume. He did not
look like he had turned 12 at all. We could hear the
crowd leaving and quickly grabbed the hats and passed
it on and hurried to the stage. We had to be the clowns
and entertain the crowd. As we got on the stage, the
crowd erupted into cheers. We could not let the crowd
get bored, could we? We pulled a few tricks without
getting hurt. Oliver and I did the one wheel juggling
using a few balls. Katherine was on an elephant going
around the crowd juggling boxes. Oliver tried a flip
and jump through a ring but fell flat on his face. It was
quite funny. Katherine tried to do some aerobics but
fell on top of Oliver. I couldn’t stop laughing as Oliver
was trying to get up but because of Katherine falling
on him, he again fell down. Meanwhile I did the hu-
la-hoop while juggling balls and dancing. Everyone
was having a blast and cheering for us. Out of the cor-
ner of my eye I saw the manager smiling backstage. We
were enjoying ourselves a lot.
After the show ended we were all tired but in good
spirits. The show was a success and the manager could
not stop thanking us. He was so happy since he did not
think we could pull off the show so well. We were all
feeling proud of ourselves. I could see Oliver enjoyed
this birthday a lot.
Then Katherine, Oliver and I went to a pizza place for
dinner. We enjoyed some pizza and talked about the
crazy day we had. We couldn’t wait to tell our parents
about the day we had. That night, we all slept with a
smile on our faces.
