Interview with
Dr. Gaurav
Jaiswal, IBCP
Coordinator
1. What is the IBCP, and how is it different from the
IBDP?
The IBCP, or IB Career-related Programme, offers a refreshing mix of
academic learning and practical experiences. Unlike the IBDP, which focuses
intensely on preparing students for university through six academic subjects,
the IBCP takes a more flexible, real-world approach. It pairs some IB
Diploma subjects with hands-on career-related studies, all while including a
thoughtful core programme that encourages personal growth, ethics, and
readiness for the workplace. This programme is perfect for students eager to
learn through practical action, not just theory.
2. Why did our school decide to introduce the IBCP, and
what does this mean for our students?
We recognize that each student is unique. Some flourish in traditional
academic settings, while others excel best when their learning feels authentic,
meaningful, and linked to their future aspirations. That’s why we created the
IBCP—to offer a pathway that aligns with the individual passions, strengths,
and career ambitions of students who thrive through hands-on experiences
and practical application. For our students, it translates to greater choice,
increased relevance, and a clear sense of direction that connects their
education with the professional world they aim to enter.
