Arabian Nights

Many of us are aware that The Thousand and One Nights or Arabian Nights, a collection of Middle Eastern and South Asian folk tales, include stories of malevolent  genies, magical lamps and restless seafarer . These stories are a source of cultural expression and continue to exert  a magnetic pull on readers, cinemagoers, theatre directors, writers and artists. The stories that dramatize the power literature has to make us  think deeply formed the cornerstone of the annual production  at DPS International, Gurgaon. Elements of  dramatic visualization and  action from ‘The Arabian Nights’ transported viewers to the land of  fact and fantasy on February 24, 2018.

A genie on a magic carpet, the band of forty thieves and a magnificent gate provided the perfect backdrop in the twilight hours of the day. The mystical evening presented PYP students from grades 3-5 under the guidance of Ms Kamal Shah, PYP Principal, earned words of appreciation from  Mr R.K Jaipuria, patron DPSI, for the grandeur at the event and stellar performance by its budding artists. The Pro Vice Chairperson of DPS International, Gurgaon Ms Devyani Jaipuria delivered the inaugural address and Ms Rima Singh, Head of School, shared the school report with the packed audience in the school auditorium.
